GS1R exists because most GS1 registration guides are either written by GS1 India itself (comprehensive, but dense and process-heavy) or by barcode resellers (simplified, but built to sell you a service). We wanted a plain-English, no-pitch explanation of how GS1 registration actually works in India.
Who runs GS1R
GS1R is maintained as part of the Ratifye family. Ratifye builds product authentication and traceability software that works on top of GS1 barcodes — so while GS1R's guides are written to stand on their own, we're upfront that the natural next step after registration, for regulated or counterfeit-sensitive categories, is the authentication layer Ratifye provides.
